We aim to run task mornings and events during the year in Torkington park. We have also started task mornings in the Hazel Grove War Memorial Garden over the last couple of years to give it a little TLC.

Dates for 2026

Easter Trail : On Thursday April 2nd from 2pm – 3.30pm. Starting at the Bowling Hut, a trail around the park to collect clues. The trail is accessible and suitable for primary/junior children. Collect the clues along the trail and get a prize! £1.00 per trail, cash only.

Secret Garden Concert: Our annual Secret Garden Concert with Hazel Grove Brass Band is on Sunday June 7th from 2pm to 4pm (tickets available from 1.30pm). Tickets £5.00 cash only. Bring your own food, drink and chairs. Gazebos will be set up for shade/wet weather. Come along to enjoy a concert in the beautiful setting of the gardens.

Annual General Meeting : Wednesday May 13th from 7pm at the Bowling Hut. Come and find out what has happened in the park and future plans. We need more volunteers in the park to keep our events and activities going. Any support and time you can give would be appreciated.

Task Mornings in Torkington Park : On the first Saturday of the month from March to November. We meet at the Bowling Hut at 10am and spend a couple of hours doing jobs around the park until 12noon – get in touch to confirm what we are doing on each task morning. Please wear walking boots, wellingtons or stout shoes and gardening gloves if you have them. We can provide basic gardening equipment and gloves– come and join us – we are a friendly bunch!

Dates for task mornings in Torkington Park in 2026 are : March 7th, April 4th, May 2nd, June 6th, July 4th, August 1st, Sept 5th, Oct 3rd and Nov 7th 2026. Please confirm you will be attending as arrangements can change. Email torkingtonpark@yahoo.com or on Facebook – @torkingtonpark.

Task Mornings at the Hazel Grove War Memorial Garden: On the second Saturday of the month and some Wednesdays from March to November. We meet at the Hazel Grove War Memorial, SK74DF at 10am until 12noon. The tasks range from tidying the borders, planting bulbs and plants, litter picking and removing weeds. Please wear walking boots, wellingtons or stout shoes and gardening gloves if you have them. We can also provide basic gardening equipment and gloves.

Dates for task mornings at the Hazel Grove War Memorial Garden in 2026: Sat March 14th, Sat April 11th , Wed April 22nd, Sat May 9th, Wed May 20th. Further dates will be added later.
